Comet Burger has been a staple of the downtown Royal Oak scene for years now - it's a great place for late night eats...or Labor Day lunch, as it turns out. My daughter and I tried to attend Arts, Beats and Eats this weekend but we were turned away because we had our dog with us. We decided to grab some lunch at a place where our dog would be welcome (aka a place with a patio). Comet was open, not busy, and said our dog was welcome outside.
We ordered sliders, fries, onion rings and milkshakes. It was about $20 for two people. Everything was tasty and well prepared. Special shout out to the onion rings, which were deep fried perfection (and the real reason I wanted to go to AB&E). The service was friendly and quick. We will definitely be back! -

It's a great greasy spoon in the Heart of Downtown Royal Oak
Small seating area.....mostly countertop but that is all you really need at this place. You are not going there for a dressed up sit down 7 course meal LoL
Chili Fries are good
Waffle fries are good
Wing Dings are good
Sliders are good
Place is great after you hit the bar for some drinks : ) then all of the above good rankings turn into GREAT !!!!!
Skip the cheese sticks and the regular fries
Thump Up for this place !!!!
Two Thumbs Ups if you go there with a buzz or with a hangover !!!! -

Burgers are mmmmmmmh mmmmmmh good! Lol if you're looking for a quick cheap bite and you have kids in tow, stop by this place! You will not be disappointed. Disclaimer I can only speak for the burgers and seasoned fries. I haven't tried anything else.

It's a greasy spoon, known for their sliders. They aren't as good as the sliders at Travis in St Clair Shores, but they are still decent.
Seating is limited to two tops and the bar area. Not a good place for large groups.
We came here after Le Crepe cuz the bf wanted second lunch. We ordered sliders and cheese sticks. The sliders hardly had any onions but plenty of pickles. Again, they were just ok. I think if I was drunk, these would taste amazing. The cheese sticks tasted pretty good with a side of marinara and ranch. The breading was unique but still very crunchy. -

Excellent food and service had the philly cheese steak and fries and they rocked! Will definitely be back.
